I am directed by the Board of Trade to transmit to you, for the information of the Secretary of State, the accompanying copy of correspondence between this Department and the Shipping Federation, respecting the circumstances under which the firemen of the "Auchenardin" of Glasgow were paid off at Hong Kong and provided with passages to this country, the cost of which is now reclaimed from His Majesty.
